PARTICIPANTS
The Wilderness Therapy Symposium attracts a range of populations including
therapists, field guides, rites of passage guides, educational consultants,
students, and professors. Last year, we estimate that 55% of the
participants were individuals who own, manage, or work at wilderness
programs; 20% work in fields and programs related to Wilderness Therapy such
as therapeutic schools, treatment centers, and referral agencies; 10% were
students and professors; 5% were therapists and other professionals with
practices related to wilderness therapy; 10% were “investigating” career
opportunities in the field of Wilderness Therapy. Based on feedback from
last year’s event and inquiries about the 7th Annual Symposium, we are
anticipating attendance at approximately 250.
